Still in Africa?

Note from Pastor Chase: 18 of the 20 men, women, and children we sent from our church have made it home safetly!  The two who have not returned yet are Mama Jones and Claudia Soares.  Instead of flying straight back to the US from South Africa, they went to Kenya for a few days to continue to serve with a ministry called Rafiki Ministry.  Lord willing, they will be back home Monday night.

Here is a breif update from Mama Jones!
Kariboo (Hello in Kiswahili)

We arrived yesterday and my brother picked us up from the airport. It was so great to see him!! My sister in love is back in the states on medical leave. Please keep her and my brother in you prayers.

After getting through customs we were taken to the school and shortly after dinner with the missionary team, Claudia and I had a chance to share a Word with the residential teenage girls and their house moms. There were about 14. We had a blast of a time together sharing about the vastness of purity. Not only were the girls engaged and but their singing was angelic. After that we headed back to the house and worked on our presentations. It was a great night.

Friday came bright and early. Actually, it was still dark outside when we made our walk to the gate to unlock it. We were in the classrooms from 5:15 to 6:45 am to listen to the students from the School of Rhetoric (9th-10th grade) recite their preparations for the national exam. At 7 am, we observed two other rhetoric classes. The kids were dressed in their uniforms and fully engaged. After a quick breakfast, we observed two pre-grammar (preschool) classrooms. The children were in Bible class, and they were fully attentive to the teachers, who were passionately sharing.

We then walked the grounds. Let’s just say we did a lot of fast-paced walking at an altitude similar to Denver, CO. Don’t worry, y’all, I took great care of Claudia, even though she was panting and out of breath. 5020202020Recent
