T'was The Night Before Moz
Aqui vamos! (Here we go!)
Well, our trip is finally here! Tomorrow marks the start of our journey across the sea.
Like on Christmas Eve, the excitement in the air is palpable. And as our bags are packed, sitting in the dim light of our Ministry Center, our team may find sleep hard to come by as our hearts (and nerves) dance with the anticipation of tomorrow.
If you’re reading this blog and you’re not a part of this church, my name is Chase. I have the incredible privilege of serving as the Lead Pastor of The Corners Chapel, and this is my third time embarking on this adventure to Mozambique.
Two years ago, I went with my wife Amanda and a small team from our sending church, The Chapel in Akron. Last year I went with the Soares family and another small team from The Chapel in Akron. Now, we’re about to head out with 20 men, women, and children from our church, and then we’re going to meet up with two friends from South Africa who will join us in our mission to Mozambique!

Meet our Team!
Tonight was our “Packing Party.” We packed all of our checked bags and distributed items across bags that will be used for Vacation Bible Schools, teachings, seminars, soccer camps, and more. Tomorrow morning we will set out on a multi-day, multi-flight trek to partner with brothers and sisters in Christ in Mozambique, Africa for the advancement of The Gospel.
Over the next few weeks, it is our hope to post on this blog daily. Lord willing you will hear from various team members, and maybe even some of the ministry leaders and pastors from Mozambique!
For now, as we continue to finalize all of our last minute details and arrangements, I’ll leave you with this little poem:
T’was the night before Moz, and in all of our hearts,

It’s crazy to think that soon we’ll be there.
We’re going to sing, to teach, and to preach.
Lord prep the hearts of those we will reach.
This stories just starting, come along for the ride,
Mozambique, we’re on the way! Lord, be our guide.
