48 hours.

Over 48 hours!

We’re here! We have made it to Mozambique.

After the world’s shortest flight from Johannesburg to Maputo (seriously, the plane was beginning its descent before the onboard snacks were even served), we met up with Pastor Benedito, Pastor Maulidio, and Michael Boso at Maputo International Airport!

Claudia and Momma Jones beat us, however, as they arrived in the early morning hours for the Maputo Women’s Conference. We’ll recieve some high quality pictures from that event later in the trip and we'll be sure to share them.

After we finally arrived, our group split into the two places we are staying for our time in Maputo, then our entire group met for dinner.

As stated in yesterday’s blog, this marked the end of our travel here. And so I officially stopped the timer at:
Just as reminder we started the timer when our team left the Ministry Center!

From our team, Reed was the winner as he guessed 49 hours!  In the blog comment section, I’d say Willa Eichelman won as she guessed, “Entirely too long!”
Tomorrow, we head to four different churches, and then we’ll meet with leaders from the Young Adult ministry our church supports in the afternoon.

We do have one very big prayer request.

Two of the four vehicles we were expecting to use on our trip are having issues. One is currently in the shop, and we’re hoping it will be fixed by Monday. The other had some unexpected problems occur today.

With the size of our group (22 people plus drivers), it’s crucial for these vehicles to be fixed or for alternative solutions to be made known in order for us to get to where we need to go – especially for us to make the 4-hour trek to the villages in Gaza on Wednesday.

Please pray for a miracle with these vehicles. While the situation may be uncertain to us, we fully believe the Lord has gone before us, and He will make a way.

Hopefully, He’ll make it clear to us in less than 48 hours. 😊
Check out a few pictures below from today:

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Tomorrow morning, we’ll be going to four churches.  Myself (Chase), Pastor Valmir, Fermin Gomez, and Scott Schmocker will all be preaching.

  • Pray for continued unity and safety for our team.

  • Pray the Lord will allow this situation for the cars to be resolved and not add any more stress on the local leaders and drivers.

  • Pray that our team can catch up on some much needed rest as we prepare to jump straight into ministry work!
